That’s just the type of person Lisa is—kind, caring, and classy. It makes this situation all the more deplorable. It also makes me willing to do anything I think will help her, even if it is something she would never ask or expect us to do. I hope that even if we fail at forcing Alloy to see their error, we succeed in showing Lisa what she means to us.

BTW, I went to a bunch of book selling sites and emailed customer service to request that they change Phantom’s info. page to reflect that it is written by a ghostwriter. I’ve only heard back from a couple, but so far I’ve been denied.

On a positive note, someone updated Wiki to say Phantom is written by a ghostwriter, and most sites that sell Phantom have posts explaining the situation.

It's great that u took ur indignation to the next level, I'm one of the people that won't buy the ghost writer book, And I'm not just saying it, I WONT. And I did explain the situation to my friends and family,we all love to read, and I usually buy the books on line and send them to my old town in Mexico, but they know they will only get MIDNIGHT once it's published in Spanish and that's it! No more VD for us, we really like LJ's style, we love ur books, the ones that r not translated, we have fun translating it all togueter when I travel there, THANK U LJ, thnks a lot, and thank u Christina for doing what u r doing tu support her, u r great.

I can't believe they are trying to hire a ghost writer, it's like they think anyone can write like L.J. can! I won't ever buy the new VD books unless they are written by L.J. herself. I'm already mad how much they messed up the TV show based off the books and now it's like they are trying to insult the readers of the books even more. But my favorite books are The Vampire Diaries, my favorite character is Damon and I must tell you that although I consider you as one of the best writers in the world, I was very sad when I read an interview of yours, you say 'But of course I assumed I’d be able write the endgame. Damon would end up with one of the girls, Stefan would end up with Elena or die . . . I don’t know what would have happened'.I know that if you could go back to write the books you would write the ending that you think is correct but it's so disappointing to know that our favorite characters will not end up together (Like Damon and Elena because they have the most epic love story I ever read). But anyway I'll continue reading your books because they inspired me to go to college to become a writer. And by the way sorry if I wrote something wrong, I'm from Argentina.

Are you ever going to write another book about Julian? I know you had thought about it but I didnt know if you ever decided you would. Julian is my favorite male character with Damon following closely after. I cried, no sobbed, when he died for Jenny. I really want him to come back. I want Jenny or someone to carve him back on the runestave. That would be a huge twist...I think it should end up Jenian...A combination of Jenny and Julian...(thats the best combination lol) Tom is great, but he doesnt love Jenny as deeply or as passionatly as Julian obviously does. No matter what Julian did to her friends, he always gave them back to her. Quite frankly she did some pretty mean things to him also. He died for her, I dont think Tom would ever do that for her. He is a hero. Anyways, I love ALL of your books, but these are my favorites. I'm so sorry to hear that you will be unable to continue writing VD and that your previous (editor or publisher?) will not be using your commentary to finish.

I enjoy reading any interviews that Lisa does. One of my favorites is from Blogfest 2009. As usual, she is open and honest with her responses, but what really touched me was her response when she was asked which super power she would like to have. I’m sure the interviewer meant it to be a lighthearted, fun question. Of course, Lisa’s answer turned it in to something more profound. It really got to the essence of who she is as a person. You must have hit the link during one of two peak periods. I've noticed that the server gets inundated from about 12-2 PM then again around 5-7 PM both Pacific Standard times. Try avoiding these hours, you'll have a better experience.

I have to say L.J's book series, "The Nightworld" was INCREDIBLE!! I loved the characters (especially Keller and Rashel!) and whole idea of the books was very entertaining. Anyone else agree!?

I agree. The Night World series is my favorite series. I’m fascinated by the soulmates principal. I also like how each book is a separate story, yet it is also part of a larger story. My favorite books in the series are Black Dawn and Witchlight. One of the things I like is that the different supernatural characters start to work together. I really like Delos. He reminds me of Damon in the sense that they were both hurt in their pasts and are afraid to love. Also like Damon once he allows himself to love, he will do anything to protect the one he loves. Keller is my favorite Night World character. The way L.J. writes about her I can feel the inner struggle she is going through about loving Galen and being loyal to her friend/Circle Day Break. Have you read the short stories about Night World characters? Thicker than Water is amazing!

As far as we know, the current trilogy being written (the Hunters) is the only VD books being written by the ghost writer, though future series may be written. Out of this series, the only book that was based (loosely) on Lisa's plan was the first one, Phantom. The other two books probably won't be using Lisa's ideas at all. That's all I know, anyway. Hope this helped.

I forgot to add that the show does not use Lisa's ideas either. It just uses her name. Authors usually do not get a lot of say when their books are adapted for TV/Movies. Of course there are some exceptions. In light of everything that is going on, having the show use her name but not her ideas is annoying me.

the probs with ghostwriter happened 1st, not one with show.
they have creative people and they have to make it to raising a general conflict in the beginning of episode and a greater one at the end - 2 hook audience.
The characters have 2 contribute to that and elena having a older [not than her]
compared 2 her sisters in the book is has more dramatic appeal [probs with lovelife, danger etc]

so they have 2 take it from there AND i believe lisa herself said Elena having a brother may have been handy.
Elena is a girl nxt door in the show but in the 1st book a hated character [ nothing like the selfless, role-model like the countless other heroines] but changes.
but 4 the show u have 2 love and sympathise with her, caroline in lonely and likable not malicious so in a nutshell there r brilliant minds behind the show but there manner to portray characters is different from lisa - hers was more personal.
With shows its about ratings, purpose of characters, the strength and weaknesses 2 make it go forward.
So there goal and manners r wonderfully diffent but grew from lisa work and it was diluted in media history forever, forcing a almost 10 yr old show smallville 2 change time-slots in the uk.
Kevin Williamson is the amazing mind behind scream 1-3 and he the most popular show of dawson creek

Hi Sofia,
Thanks for such a thorough explanation. I know there are many reasons why shows can’t/won’t be like the books. When I watched the first couple episodes of TVD I did a lot of whining to my friends and family that the show was ruining everything. It seemed like the writers had just read the back of the book and went from there. Once I got over the fact that the book and show were two separate things, I was able to enjoy the show. I didn’t mean to bash the show, I actually watch it regularly. I think Ian Somerhalder is the perfect Damon, even though in my opinion the writers sometimes have him do things that the book Damon wouldn’t do. Books are so much more of a personal experience that each person’s ideas about a character may be a little different. My annoyance at the show was just more of a general annoyance at anything related to Alloy at all. I know it’s not the most reasonable reaction, but my feelings are not always based on reason. (lol)

My point was just that whether or not the show continues is based more on ratings than it is on what happens with TVD books. Also, I don’t believe anyone is asking Lisa for her input on anything related to the show. Like you said, this is not a personal slight, just the way things work when books are adapted to TV. Books are always so much better anyway. I very rarely just watch TV. I always have to be doing something else like exercising, playing a game, or doing a word search.

I agree with you about the Night World. I don’t have the tiniest expectation that anything adapted for TV/Movies would be able to come close to the brilliance of the Night World.

I don’t mind if you call me Chris. Most people offline do.

There is a site called Twilight Tales http://www.ttales.net/ (The link can also be found on the links pages of this site.) Twilight Tales has a lot of fanfiction based on Lisa’s books. You can browse according to which series interests you. They also include summaries and reviews from other fans. I have not read any of the stories, but this may be a good place for you to start. I hope this helps.

it went well - she has no new problems, after camera check and has now a tube to help her eat - her body was rejecting food
but the tube should fix that now, hopefully.
she hasnt got an eating disorder but her stomach is lop-sided so food does not get where it should, therefore sits there, then comes back up via mouth/vomit
BUT ALL UR PRAYERS WORKED
LOL AND POSITIVE ENERGY TO U ALL
and if thers somethin diffrent with ur body dont write it off go to a dr asap or reprecusions could be fatal.

I liked Secret Vampire and Huntress the best. You're right about Ash looking creepy in the Daughters of Darkness. In general, I think the central pictures were okay. All the stuff around the edges were sort of weird, though.

Hey, the new changes are great! But I think it would be much better to change the "Most Read" column to "Latest Blog Post' You know, with just the title of the post or a small phrase. Oh, I think would be cool to change in the Raving Review part the color around the cover. I think it'd be really pretty if you use what you did in the beginning of the site, something like a mirrored effect, without the blue/green edge. I don't know how to explain.

I can't also wait to read "Thicker than Water" super excited one question though can those stories like "thicker than Water be downloaded to a kindle or ebook? because I'm not allowed to download in our computer but im very desperate to read the story... :). Lisa you have a wonderful gift your stories can make me scream everytime i think of a scene of each Couples i even screamed at school and all the teachers and students were looking at me but it was worth it. Sometimes if I think too much it makes my stomach hurt but it's a nice kind of hurt it kind even make me go to sleep and every dream I have will be another adventure about your characters then when I wake up I'm glad I had that dream.
