Ash and Mary-Lynnette: Those Who Favor Fire

This is, at last, the continuation of the story of Ash Redfern and Mary-Lynnette Carter. For those who haven't read the original, or don't remember, although they are soulmates, the stargazer Mary-Lynnette sent the vampire Ash packing when she heard about the sins of his past. Ever since, a reformed Ash has been trying to make amends. But will it ever be enough for Mary-Lynnette? And what's on the disk that Mary-Lynnette's friend claims will save humankind? Rating: PG for mild violence. For romantics.

I remember when I read Witchlight, and learnt about the dragons, my first thought was, 'Hey Ash may get a chance to fight and slay a dragon after all!'

I loved 'Those who Favour Fire', but I thought the tone was a little more shmaltzy than that of 'Daughters of Darkness'. Once of the things that makes that my fave NW story is that A & M are neither sickly sweet

nor too romantic and boring

. They're both whip-smart, fiery, and rather cynical. But then again, it is the first time they've seen each other in years, so can't blame them!

I love the poem associated with this story, 'Those Who Favour Fire'. It certainly got me thinking. For me, it doesn't only mean fire and ice. For me, fire stands for the jealousy kindling in people. Ice, the cold and bitterness. Both of them are present, and both of them have enough power to scar our lovely earth.

Oh wow. I still can't get over the fact that Ash was BEGGING! I mean, it was so sweet! To think that he would go through so much for Mary-Lynnette. He has changed so much. I always love the protectiveness shown by the guys in Night World, and I love the strong girls, too. The characters are amazing! Oh and I loved this, too -
'An alarm began to ring.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the Nightworld,and i've been longing to find out what happens between Ash and Mary-lynnette when they FINALLY meet again, and overall i was happy with the reunioun... not quite what i was expecting, and it was too soon, but i was still gripped! however, just a little constructive criticisim; i feel, personally, that Ash has lost some of his unique character in this story, and it all felt a bit rushed when i was reading it (it peaked too soon.)However, overall, a tense, exciting, action-packed thrill of a short story, i really enjoyed it! xxx

Originally Those Who Favor Fire was going to be a part of Strange Fate, but Strange Fate has grown so much since it was first written that this story is no longer canon anymore. Ash rescuing Mary-Lynnette will be different in Strange Fate. I'm not sure about the other Night World short stories.

I'm very confused. i read the re-published version of the night world series and i need to know what those who favor fire is and if the are any other continued books about the series that were included in the old versions. personally i, although i wanted to previously, dont want to read strange fate until i know for sure that i read everything that comes before it.

Those who Favor Fire is a continuation of the Ash and Mary-Lynnette story. It ends on a cliff hanger and will be continued in Strange Fate but it may be changed a little from the story here. It is only available online. There are also two other stories about Night World characters that Lisa wrote just for her site. They are called Jez and Morgead's Night Out and Thicker than Water. The one about Jez is supposed to have taken place before she realizes her and Morgead are soulmates. Thicker than Water takes places during the time frame of strange Fate but the version that appears in Strange Fate may be a little different. I hope this helped and didn't confuse you more. If you have any other questions, let me know.

I just love how you include Quinn & (Rashel in the Kellar story) because they are my absolute favourites of all time in all your book series. Even if you wrote a nonsense book on those two I'd still read it a hundred times haha but second of course, is Ash & Mary-Lynette! :)

Strange Fate will have more of Mary-Lynette and Ash's story. However, it is not just their story. It will include all of the soulmates from all 3 volumes of Night World and new characters, too!! You haven't even met my favorite characters Keller and Galen, yet.

I just tried it and it worked fine for me. You could clear your cache and then try to open the file again. Sometimes certain browsers have trouble opening files. Which browser are you using. Internet Explorer acts funny for me. I'm using FireFox. I hope you are able to open the file.

I have always wanted to visit France! I am a bit jealous of those who live there! LJ is doing her best to put the finishing touches on Strange Fate as we speak! Remember, when she has her portion complete, it still needs to go through the publishers!

There is also another book she will be having published soon called The Last Lullaby, have you had a chance to read it's Sneak Peek? Since you have already read all nine books, you should be fine to read "Those Who Favor Fire." If you want to refresh your memory some I recommend reading Daughters of Darkness first.
