Christina this is whast I sent (part 1): To The Alloy Publisher,
I am not sure you realize how many of the Vampire Diaries fans are much older than teeny-boppers. When I look at the various blogs (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Ms. Smith's web site) regarding Ms Smith being replaced by a ghost writer, I see how many of her fans are very upset.
I don't have a problem with a different writer for Stepan's Diaries as that series follows the TV show not the original series. In fact I have purchased the first 3, enjoyed them and will purchase 4 & 5. I also, love the TV series. I purchased the first two seasons on DVD and will purchase the third season when it becomes available.

Christina Part 2: I think writing another series based on the TV show is great, but I would love to see the original book series continued by Ms Smith. I am sorry but like most of her fans, I will not be purchasing Phantom or the rest of that trilogy if it is not written by L. J. Smith.
I've signed the second petition, can't sign the first because I don't have twitter. I've also found a Dutch site that promotes phantom as a book written by LJ, I will tell them that it is written by a ghostwriter. No one should take credit for Lisas amazing work! The Vampire Diaries is her story, her characters. It should be written by her and no one else!

Thank you for keeping everyone honest Cynthia. Lisa truly appreciates all of you "die-hard" hardcore fans!!
ok, i hope i dont offend lj here buuuut i just wanted to let everyone know that there is a blog thing for each episode(wich is real cool but not like the books) of the secret circle at the cw website heres the link
Okay, so I just couldn't help myself. Curiosity gave way to desperation and I read the first chapter of Phantom on amazon. And now I'm glad I did. The first chapter surprised me, as it included Elena and Damon. The descriptions were very O.T.T and were mere echos of the wonderful L J Smiths style of writing. Elena herself was half convincing, but there was a very different feel to her, slightly wooden even. And then there was Damon. Well, I'll just be blunt. I hated it. It was like he was a completely different character. There was no passion, no spark, and I felt nothing when I was reading the parts with Damon and Elena interaction, even though I genuinely tried to picture it as L Js work. The way Damon was written was almost lazy, and you got the impression that they were just rehashing various bits from past books. Overall, the whole chapter just felt like a bad joke. My poor brain feels like its been raped. That'll teach me. Curiosity killed the cat
I don't think you should boycott. We fans should support the change even though we want the original back. Instead of boycotting you could patition and have people write to the publishing company. It's much more formal and appropriate. Just a thought =} Damon 4evr!!!!
Technically its not boycotting, I am a L. J. Smith fan, so I buy L. J. Smith books. I don't buy some wanna be ghost writer books because I am not a fan of someone who isn't original enough to come up with their own series or own characters. And as a fellow writer she should be ashamed of herself for having any part of this. And as for being more appropriate do you really think it would be appropriate for me to go and buy a book who's ownership was stolen I personal don't think its right to buy stolen goods :) A true fan would never buy that book its not the real Vampires diaries its a sad fake!!!!!!
I see your a Damon fan so imagine you just turned Vampire Diaries on t.v. and suddenly Pee wee Herman was Playing ian Somerhalder, because that is what its going to be like reading the Ghost writes version of the book its not the real characters, not even close.
I 2nd that chris been on a holiday - just got back some things never change with principle-less people but it is great 2 see all the additional new thumbs down phantom clan. I hope Lisa can see it And Chris congrats on all the new alloy haters converts u really have kept up the good work lol - u deserve it
i read the books b4 i ever watched the series you can imagine my horror when the only simalarity was the names i just wondered if l.j. had much off a say in the series i honestly believe its not even close to the heart and soul feelings u get from the books and its not even close i just wish that tv producers would stop adulterating authors work to suit their own ideas the original plot is always the best and to l.j. herself i bow and give her reverence as a great storyteller and plead thet she never puts down her paper and pen

Hi
Im a die-hard Lisa fan since 11 and am going on 27 but u gotta get as much as i respect ur feelings and agreed with them at the beginning... U gotta get that tv has to fit a certain amount of drama on each and every episode and following a book scenario i.e. conflict is vastly diffrent kevin williamson has done a bang up job and that shows on the ratings, inc that not all V.D show fans are Lisa fans - he has bought her an additional fan following and has picked up on her genius and continued with secret circle he has no control over Alloy and thier treachury
please dont mind, it is a friendly other side of the same coin reflection we are one another [lisa fan's] with a little diffrences I Learned Alot From Christina
He has to give in a conflict ridden script episode after episode and that is diffrent from novel writing Respect ur views but like me u need 2 at one point think from the other side and see the unseen i.e. Jeremy replacing elens sis - it adds 2 script or a baby will be in danger 24/7 and affect elena / aunt 24/7 a brother tenager is different and the elder diaries 4 him and devices, Ingenius Even Lisa said Elena having a brother would have been handy ... lol
Yes at 2st he was diffrent, in the 1st episode or 2 but after he is the embodiment of Damon minus a few things like his soft side in pain 4 Katherine / elena but that is based on kevin's work everything else is Lisa based character HE IS GREAT and probably the only actor who could have pulled off Damon so effortlessly in a pilot series. The Boy Has Done A Great Job, he desrves credit - just read lisa's thoughts on him
HYSTERICAL - It is nice 2 see some True Lisa Fan's can put the message across at so many diffrent levels - i would have said something partly ungracious based on admin advise 4 a fighting free forum Golden Rule but u cracked me up. took away the pain and left me with calm THANK U so much Please sign the chritina given links on the top of the pg, u will need twitter 4 one lol

Hi Shani, I’m sorry but I just don’t see the point in buying the ghostwritten books. It would be like telling Alloy that it is okay to disrespect us and Lisa. Go ahead and mutilate the books we love. We’ll kick and scream, but in the end we’ll buy them anyway.
Well, that doesn’t really work for me. I refuse to allow myself or Lisa to be treated that way. Boycotting is an appropriate way to send a message that we will not stand for what they have done. It is the basics of supply and demand. I demand that Alloy supplies Lisa’s books written only by Lisa. In the business world money speaks louder than words. I’ve tried words (through multiple letters and signing petitions) and that has just gotten me ignored. I have yet to hear from anyone that has gotten a response from Alloy. Alloy doesn’t care about whether we like the books. What they care about is whether we buy the books, so the only way they will hear us is by boycotting.
+8#RE: RE: Boycott —
Christina Crowley2011-10-09 06:54
Alloy has made their choice. Now, we must all make our choices and decide what we will stand for. What ever you decide make sure it is something you are proud of. I know I’m proud of my decision to support Lisa rather than a book or a company. As far as I’m concerned, the ghostwritten books can stay on the store shelves as a testament of Alloy’s arrogance and stupidity. But this will only work, if we show solidarity and speak with one voice. A loss of a few sales isn’t going to mean much, but a huge decline in the profits of a popular series will. Whether we like it or not, money equals power. Right now we hold the power. Alloy only has the power that we give them, and I refuse to relinquish mine.
hey i was just thinkin phantom is comin out soon so do ya think you could mabey write somthing i and other fans from around the world could slip into the books or give to the book shop to put on the wall or somthing i think it would realy help thoses who arent awear of what has happend so that they to could not buy the book and hopefully small bookshops might just not buy the books in the first place, this might be a far fetched dream but. . . thnx oxo
I like the way you are thinking. Brick and mortar book stores are a concern. I just don’t see bookstores being open to allowing us to post signs because it will cut into their profits too. I have no idea what type of backlash may result from putting notes in books without permission, so think about the risk vs. the benefit before you act.
That being said, if you decide to go ahead with it, you don’t have to go into a lot of detail. You might say something like: Attention: This book was Not written by L. J. Smith. Although she wanted to write it and turned in a manuscript, Alloy decided to exercise a clause in the original contract that allowed them to choose a different author. Purchasing this book will let Alloy know that you agree with their decision.
That is just one way of saying it. Everyone can phrase it the way they like. Just don’t make it too long and use large front and colored paper to draw attention to it.
I started read long befor the show and I don't need you to tell me how to be a true fan. Hope your plan works out for you.
Hey shani im sorry i didnt mean for my message to come out that way, i know what you mean by being a fan befor the show came out i started reading befor the show came out too. i didnt mean to offend you i was just voiceing my option about the V.D. not being written by l.j.smith. again sorry.
Shani its ok we all have are own opinions but mine is that yes we should sign patitions and write to the company but if you buy the book you are not getting your message across because you are giving the company money for a book series that now with a ghost writer you dont support. so i agree with the boycott i wont read vampire diaries unless its writen by l.j.smith!!!!

Hi Nicky, Lisa has said that she plans to write a sequel to The Forbidden Game. However, she has three books that she is working on now, so it could be a while.
Take some time to explore this site. I'm sure you find answers to a lot of questions and other fun stuff. It is always being updated, too.
By the way, Guestbook 12 http://www.ljanesmith.net/www/gb/guestbook-vault/325-guestbook-12 has a lot of information about upcoming books, including The Forbidden Game sequel.

sofia2011-10-10 03:20
Hi
i am a writer and am coming up with creative plot / conflict but as i go deeper, i find other show [supernatural type] have already used it. Do you go back and restart or continue with your idea, keeping the main point original / diffrent? many thanx

Noelle2011-10-10 13:31
Hey Sofia Don't worry if your plot is similar to a show or book, just keep working on it. No two people are alike, that's the beauty of writing, you can give two people the exact same plot and you will get two completily different stories. As you write your ideas will change. Just make sure your story doesn't end up very like the show or book. Remember there are very few plots out there. Most books or shows all have the same main plot e.g. vampire falls in love with a human, forbidden love, good verses evil, and so on, the secret is to put your own unique twist on it. Give it a chance, keep writing. When you are finished then look back over it, it mightn't be as similar to the books as you first thought. Hope this helps and good luck with you writing
Thanx - that really helps! I had a idea / plot, that was un-explored but true blood just had the same story line in their current season but your right. Why waste a years work? many thanx

Hi. I just recently joined this site. I am also a writer so let me share with you a little of my experience. I once wrote a saga-series novel and I found out that it is a little similar to Lisa's The Forbidden Game. Boy-meets-girl, bad guy obsessed with the girl, doing whatever he takes to have her... But although the ideas are the same, it's a very different plot. So if it were me, I say just keep on writing. You'll be very surprised how it works out.
It's actually currently on hold, but once I finish my current supernatural genre novel, maybe I'll get back to work on it... Hope this helps.

Hi Alara, I honestly don't know when Phantom's international release dates are.
However, I just want to let you know that L. J. Smith did not write it. It was not her choice Alloy (the book packaging company) took it from her and gave it to an unknown author. If you want to know more about this, let me know. Many of L. J.'s fans are choosing to not buy Phantom to support her.

Hi Rachel, It was Alloy's decision because the original contract was with them. However, Harper Teen took Alloy's side and did nothing to help Lisa. I'm not entirely sure, but I think if Harper Teen would have refused to publish the ghostwritten book, Alloy would have had to rethink their decision. However, Alloy could have gone with a different publisher or go another route to get what they wanted. I hold both Alloy and Harper Teen accountable. I've sent letters and emails to both without hearing anything back. At this point, I'm just completely done with them.
You should be able to create an account. I just did. Once you fill in your information and submit it, you will receive a confirmation email. You need to follow the link and then login. I hope this helps.
Had a break from site Just become a member - does this open up more fan options, if so what? Hi chris saw that u are on, what time is it, in the states? It is 2am almost here! love you LISA
Under new books from Lisa, the forbidden game, adult conclusion title is not thier Is this just at idea stage or has the publisher asked Lisa to begin writing it after, strange fate and briony's lullaby, not in that order lol thanx
lol hope you are happy and healthy - when you have time, drop a line to your, Faithful, Eternal GuestBook Fan's All my positive energy will be heading your way How is the writing going? lol again you deserve it and thanx for the member option, you go above and beyond, for your fans Hopefully we can repay the favour and have Alloy free life
Love your books. Read all the Vampire Diaries at least 10 times if not more. They are hard to put down. Look forward to the next in line. I wish you were writing it and feel disloyal reading it, but I can't not know what happens next.
That was nice of you to tell Lisa that you enjoyed her books so much. However, don't you think it was a little mean to tell her you will be reading books that have caused her so much heartache?
Just a suggestion, if you are torn about what to do, maybe you could get the book from the library instead of buying it.
I couldn't tell from your post if you have read Lisa's other books. she has many wonderful series that are every bit as good as the Vampire Diaries. My personal favorites are the Night World. They have vampires, witches, shapeshifters, and other supernatural creatures. There are plenty of couples and gorgeous bad boys to love. We could always chat more in the Forum. If you would like.
How can u talk to each other on forum? And great job on keeping up with the alternative, rather than buying P.... But i would be too hurt and think it is un-necessary to mention alloy / phantom on this guestbook Im sure admin has stressed that - to sara not u chris ur doing a great job lol
Those book's u have read 10x are only special due to Lisa'a talent - u will be severely dissapointed reading it [phantom], as it is not as simple as replacing a tv actor where they both can come up with the same style Writing is very individual and that is how one is sucessful in it Phantom will be s**t and if ur still wanting to read it - just read stefan's diaries reviews on amazon
I have not read the books as they are created based on l.j.smith's books, not wrote by her but under recent alloy - fire - lisa - decision I have to gather info, why not to buy phantom and stefan's diaries where my starting point I hope i have not offended u but being a hardcore lisa fan for over 10 yrs, to me their is no bigger slap on the face than to vocalise ur support of alloy [sales] on this site They have taken part of Lisa'a life's work via a crafty contract but why fireher? A selling author? And until we the TRUE lisa fan's dont make alloy take notice via no phantom sales we will never have the anser! Im sure Lisa has been gravely hurt by thier decision and has taken a break from Guestbook, dont give her another reason, not to return!
Just wanted to know, how do you leave your details on welcome mat? I want to but dont know how? I clicked on suscribe, still nothing PLEASE HELP LOL SOFIA
Sofia, To leave your details on Welcome Mat click "welcome Mat" once you do this you should see a "New Topic" button right above the title "Welcome Mat" click that and it will bring up a dialogue box similar to the one used here. Hello. I'm a Malaysian Chinese. I just registered into this site. Nice to meet you all. I'm actually a writer in training and I actually post up my story in my blog. If you are a big fan of supernatural like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, then it would suit you just fine. ^^ I started writing when I was 10 in primary but I could never get the story done, so now I'm taking it up again thanks to encouragement from friends. I was inspired by many authors and one of them is L.J. Smith. I love reading the Forbidden Games so much til I carry it with me everywhere I go. It reminds me of one of the novels that I've written since I was 13 but I couldn't get the ending right.. I hope she continues writing to inspires those who are writing as well.
Hi Elayne, Come join us on Forum. There are many discussions going on and I'm sure you will find other aspiring writers. Thank you for your post. Lisa loves to hear she has inspired people to write!
I was wondering when ms. smith will start writing the sequel to the Forbidden Game and when she will be giving us a preview? Will she bring Juilian back? Love, the faithful fangirl
Lisa is currently working on three books so it may be awhile before we see The Forbidden Game sequel. Keep checking this site for the latest info. First of all regarding the new VD book wrote by the ghost writer...i haven't read anything of it yet, but like of you say alloy betrayed us and LJ when they decided to have a ghost writer for them...we will never have the original characters again and that is not fair! I admit it, I will probably end up reading the book some place online, but i will never give my money to them...
Please, somebody tell me anything about TSC, i read that LJ will write a new about it but anybody knows when?? I'm dying to have any new, please contact me, THANK YOu

Not sure where you are getting this news but they are wrong. L. J. IS NOT WRITING ANY SEQUELS TO TSC OR TVD. You're welcome, it's a pleasure to help you and Lisa to notice that little thing. I thought it was old because i read about that on other places and it was pretty old...i just wanted to know that is why I ask about TSC sequel, if it was true or not. Thank you so much for inform me about it =)

I read the first preview of Phantom in the 3rd volume of Stefan's Diaries and I'm very sorry to say it is very disappointing. I just wished I had never read the page. It reminds me of the time when my friend took my story and re-wrote it into her style til I got so mad with her. Because as much as I hate to admit it, she turned my adventure story into such a sickly romance story that went spinning out of my control. Due to this, I was forced to abandon that story til I could re-arrange the story right again. Which means I'm still doing it now, except I'm busy trying to finish off my blog story so it will takes a while... . But as Admin said, good things are all worth the wait...
Don't worry, I won't buy Phantom. It kinds of sickened me to do so because it doesn't seem right, having worked so hard on a story then someone suddenly came along and snatched it out of your hands, making it spinning out of control. Even though it's already years, I still feel the pain.

Totally off topic but.....California? Cool! Yes, I know. I'm a die-hard L.J.Smith fan and I didn't know where she lived.....but still! I have a friend in California and she lives in tank tops and shorts! Much better than my British weather! Lol, although I do love the rain - a bit of sun would be nice every now and then xD
Wow! That sounds gorgeous! I don't know much about Cali but my friend lives in Rancho Cucamonga. Anywhere near you guys? Lol, she loves L.J.Smith so if it is, she'd be ecstatic! It's winter here at the minute so I'd REALLY like some of your sun!
U stole the word out of my mouth! I was very busy or was going to write in how much I love the new Background, Halloween. It got my creative juices flowing! lol
hii i am from london but would like to know if vampire diaries-phantom will be published with a picture cover because i have a set with all the pictures as the cover so i would not like to spoil my set plllllllzzzzzzzzzzz someone help
Wait what? Alloy decided that they didn't want the books the way they were going and they decided to take the book away from LJ, now they will be written by a ghost writter...her name will appear on the cover but that it, from now on the books will be more based on the TV series than on the old books
Hey guys I'm new in here and I'll try to fit as possible as I can :) I want to thank Lisa for her books and I'm really happy that I found a place where I can talk about it! :)

For real, the vampire diaries adapted for the tv is amazing. I thanks to L.J Smith for her amazing criative mind and for inspiring some awesome tv directors.
Those people should know they're not gonna sell any books if l.j isnt writing them. I went to barnes and noble website yesterday and the book got only 2 stars cause l.j. didntt write them. see everyone is mad about it. they should srsly know....
You are so right...people will not buy the books because it hasn't been written by LJ, some people who like the books but it's not a real fan might buy it but that's it...I'm personally curious about the book so i will probably read it but i will downliad it free from the internet...
I do not want to discuss specifics about the ghostwritten books, but I have to say deeply sorry and very very sad: I can never read Vampire Diaries again :-( I read Phantom, because I wanted to be fair and make my own opinion about it. But it is not even half as it was, these are not my Elenas, Bonnies an Damons. It is so sad, that I will not get an satisfying end of my beloved Vampire Diaries. All the characters just vanished in the nirvana and I hate, that L.J. Smith cannot give us, what she would have given us: Fun, Love, Peace and much more by reading her fabulous books, by going with the wonderful characters in her books. They are dead. I am so sorry, for all of us. :-(
I read Phantom, just for curious, you can get it free on internet, I agree with you, it´s so terrible!, I have no words for decribe it...They, just created OTHERS characters and put the names of L.J. ´s characters on them, the book is very bad and follows the tv show, you almost expect that Margaret becomes Jeremy without any explanations.
I just want to say to those that are curious about the book, don´t waste your time, don´t worth it

Jodie, the email address you've used has a typo in it. You've added an extra 'b' so you'll likely never get the activation link. However, I've manually created your account so that you may enjoy the Forum. Check your email and see if you've received the login/password. If so, follow the direction and get your access to Forum.

Guys, can you help me? I basically don't undersand why L.J.Smith doesn't write TVD and TSC anymore? And what's wrong with that Kevin Williamson guy? I mean his projects for CW is awful
The reason L J is not writing TVD and TSC is because Alloy (the book packaging company) decided to have both series continued with a ghostwriter. They are allowed to do this because of a "work for hire" clause in the original contracts. Lisa didn't quite understand what this clause meant when she was a new author and her agent at the time din't explain it. She fought long and hard to prevent/reverse this decision but Alloy won't change their mind. There is nothing left for her to do. Many fans (myself included) are not buying any future TVD or TSC books as a way to send Alloy a message that we do not agree with their decision.
As for what is going on with Kevin Williamson, I believe he is just doing the job he was hired to do. Some people like the shows. I believe everyone would have been better served had he actually followed the books. I realize not everything can translate from the page to the screen, but a little effort would have been nice. I mean they don't even ask Lisa for any input whatsoever.
I hope I answered your questions. If not or if you have more, just let me know.
This is totally unfair.i was so upset when i finished midnight , ***spoiler alert*** i mean you cant leave damon stranded then switch to a ghost writer. alloy cant really think thats ok.vd will never be the same again. its just not fair. they cant take it away.do they know how many people read vd? its the perfect romance.

Hi jenni, i do know what your saying, but i think lj smith did brilliantly ending like that. I mean , i do whant her to keep on writing the series , but could you carry on from that? Shes givven the ghost writen an even tougher time by writting so brilliantly. and yes, it is the perfect romance, i agree

When Lisa wrote Midnight she had no idea that Alloy was going to remove her from the series. She had every intention of continuing the story herself, so the ending was not her attempt to get back at the ghostwriter. She is such a kind, caring person that I doubt she would have done something like that even if she knew what was in store. I definitely wouldn't have blamed her if she had killed off half the characters because what Alloy did was greedy and mean. The ghostwriter is going to have a tough time anyway. Because there is no way to improve on perfection.
I know we all want to see it continued but i think we all need to not buy ANY of the ghostwritten material, make a big deal about it, cause the story will not be as it should if it isn't from l j mind. I do watch the show but movies and tv show are to be expected different, but someone taking over her books is downright wrong,, everyone needs to start a facebook and everywhere else ban on the ghostwritten stuff, let them strongly know how we feel..
well, that's a shame, because I certainly enjoy those stories, and I think it would be great if LJ posted some more on her website, I think it would be a great inspirtation and motivation towards us, her ultimate fans who love her!!!! Besides it would prove to be a great way of advertizing her new books, if there are short stories about them.
You should check out fanfiction. net. Obviously the writers there are no LJ but you'll probably find that story and some of the young authors do have quite good imaginations and talent :)

I was unable to find anything on the 2 petition websites you gave. However, I did send emails to both of the email addresses you gave.
I really hope they give the original Vampire Diaries back to her. They probably won't though which is very frustrating!
I'm glad you sent emails. Maybe someday Alloy will finally listen to us. I've sent email and snail mail and they have never even acknowledged receiving either. I'm hoping sales will be low enough to make them listen.
I hope they listen, also. I did find the petitions and I signed both. Maybe if enough of us complain they will listen.
To The Alloy Publisher,
I am not sure you realize how many of the Vampire Diaries fans are much older than teeny-boppers.
I think writing another series based on the TV show is great, but I would love to see the original book series continued by Ms Smith. I am sorry but like most of her fans, I will not be purchasing Phantom or the rest of that trilogy if it is not written by L. J. Smith.

Lisa truly appreciates all of you "die-hard" hardcore fans!!
http://bookofshadows.cwtv.com/
cya! :)
Damon 4evr!!!!
I 2nd that chris
been on a holiday - just got back
some things never change with principle-less people but it is great 2 see all the additional new thumbs down phantom clan.
I hope Lisa can see it
And Chris congrats on all the new alloy haters converts u really have kept up the good work
lol - u deserve it
Thanks for the nice comments about Lisa and her books. If you are interested there is a similar discussion on Forum. I'm sure you will also find many other topics that will interest you.
Im a die-hard Lisa fan since 11 and am going on 27 but u gotta get as much as i respect ur feelings and agreed with them at the beginning...
U gotta get that tv has to fit a certain amount of drama on each and every episode and following a book scenario i.e. conflict is vastly diffrent
kevin williamson has done a bang up job and that shows on the ratings, inc that not all V.D show fans are Lisa fans - he has bought her an additional fan following and has picked up on her genius and continued with secret circle
he has no control over Alloy and thier treachury
please dont mind, it is a friendly other side of the same coin reflection
we are one another [lisa fan's] with a little diffrences
I Learned Alot From Christina
Respect ur views but like me u need 2 at one point think from the other side and see the unseen
i.e. Jeremy replacing elens sis - it adds 2 script or a baby will be in danger 24/7 and affect elena / aunt 24/7
a brother tenager is different and the elder diaries 4 him and devices, Ingenius
Even Lisa said Elena having a brother would have been handy ...
lol
HE IS GREAT and probably the only actor who could have pulled off Damon so effortlessly in a pilot series.
The Boy Has Done A Great Job, he desrves credit - just read lisa's thoughts on him
THANK U so much
Please sign the chritina given links on the top of the pg, u will need twitter 4 one
lol
Quoting Jeanne:Whats the point of
Quoting Jeanne:
Hi
love it
should be a slogan
I’m sorry but I just don’t see the point in buying the ghostwritten books.
What they care about is whether we buy the books, so the only way they will hear us is by boycotting.
thnx oxo
That being said, if you decide to go ahead with it, you don’t have to go into a lot of detail. You might say something like: Attention: This book was Not written by L. J. Smith. Although she wanted to write it and turned in a manuscript, Alloy decided to exercise a clause in the original contract that allowed them to choose a different author. Purchasing this book will let Alloy know that you agree with their decision.
That is just one way of saying it. Everyone can phrase it the way they like. Just don’t make it too long and use large front and colored paper to draw attention to it.
Hey shani im sorry i didnt mean for my message to come out that way, i know what you mean by being a fan befor the show came out i started reading befor the show came out too. i didnt mean to offend you i was just voiceing my option about the V.D. not being written by l.j.smith. again sorry.
Lisa has said that she plans to write a sequel to The Forbidden Game. However, she has three books that she is working on now, so it could be a while.
Take some time to explore this site. I'm sure you find answers to a lot of questions and other fun stuff. It is always being updated, too.
By the way, Guestbook 12 http://www.ljanesmith.net/www/gb/guestbook-vault/325-guestbook-12
has a lot of information about upcoming books, including The Forbidden Game sequel.
thats great i dont mind waiting i love here books soo much just too know there is a plan is good for mee i have something too wait for i ols have allot off books waiting for at the moment im reading here last book off the vampire diaries and i olso have the collection off nightworld, and secret cicle soo i have some books too read until the new forbidden game comes out
greets nicky
And yeah, I agree, the new background is gorgeous, especially for this time of year!
Thank you Noelle but actually you should thank L. J. for allowing me to provide her fans with as much creative input as a designer would like. She truly is a great person, author and a client. The plan is to have four distinctive seasonal backgrounds, even though it does not snow where we both live here in California.
no hablo ingles
pero me encanta este sitio sin duda el mejor que he visto de escritores de libros es interactivo, original y creativo ademas nos hase sentir cerca de L.j
i am a writer and am coming up with creative plot / conflict but as i go deeper, i find other show [supernatural type] have already used it.
Do you go back and restart or continue with your idea, keeping the main point original / diffrent?
many thanx
Don't worry if your plot is similar to a show or book, just keep working on it.
Why waste a years work?
many thanx
It's actually currently on hold, but once I finish my current supernatural genre novel, maybe I'll get back to work on it... Hope this helps.
I hope I didn't offend anybody....
No u did not offend - u encouraged!
hope ur book turns out well
im stuck in a writers block for a month now - worried
dont know what 2 do
any advice?
I honestly don't know when Phantom's international release dates are.
However, I just want to let you know that L. J. Smith did not write it. It was not her choice Alloy (the book packaging company) took it from her and gave it to an unknown author. If you want to know more about this, let me know. Many of L. J.'s fans are choosing to not buy Phantom to support her.
It was Alloy's decision because the original contract was with them.
Had a break from site
Just become a member - does this open up more fan options, if so what?

Just a suggestion, if you are torn about what to do, maybe you could get the book from the library instead of buying it.
I couldn't tell from your post if you have read Lisa's other books. she has many wonderful series that are every bit as good as the Vampire Diaries. My personal favorites are the Night World. They have vampires, witches, shapeshifters, and other supernatural creatures. There are plenty of couples and gorgeous bad boys to love. We could always chat more in the Forum. If you would like.
How can u talk to each other on forum?
And great job on keeping up with the alternative, rather than buying P....
But i would be too hurt and think it is un-necessary to mention alloy / phantom on this guestbook
Im sure admin has stressed that - to sara not u chris
ur doing a great job
lol
Those book's u have read 10x are only special due to Lisa'a talent - u will be severely dissapointed reading it [phantom], as it is not as simple as replacing a tv actor where they both can come up with the same style
Writing is very individual and that is how one is sucessful in it
Phantom will be s**t and if ur still wanting to read it - just read stefan's diaries reviews on amazon
I have to gather info, why not to buy phantom and stefan's diaries where my starting point
I hope i have not offended u but being a hardcore lisa fan for over 10 yrs, to me their is no bigger slap on the face than to vocalise ur support of alloy [sales] on this site
They have taken part of Lisa'a life's work via a crafty contract but why fire her?
A selling author?
And until we the TRUE lisa fan's dont make alloy take notice via no phantom sales we will never have the anser!
Im sure Lisa has been gravely hurt by thier decision and has taken a break from Guestbook, dont give her another reason, not to return!
I have noticed you on the site twice now
please drop in to guestbook and say Hi
Admin
thank u 4 no characters to fill in during each comment
Hugely appreciated

First of all regarding the new VD book wrote by the ghost writer...i haven't read anything of it yet, but like of you say alloy betrayed us and LJ when they decided to have a ghost writer for them...we will never have the original characters again and that is not fair! I admit it, I will probably end up reading the book some place online, but i will never give my money to them...
Not sure where you are getting this news but they are wrong. L. J. IS NOT WRITING ANY SEQUELS TO TSC OR TVD. There will likely be new books coming from the publisher for those series but will be written by ghostwriters. If you want answers to anything to do L. J. Smith, come and get your news here. Better yet, sign up for free membership (on the right column) and get it instantly as we post them. I will post it to the Forum before I will post to site.
I actually read it here, on the FAQ section...someo ne ask about the new Cassie and Nick story and there was a short description of the plot
Don't worry, I won't buy Phantom. It kinds of sickened me to do so because it doesn't seem right, having worked so hard on a story then someone suddenly came along and snatched it out of your hands, making it spinning out of control. Even though it's already years, I still feel the pain.
Totally off topic but.....Califor nia? Cool! Yes, I know. I'm a die-hard L.J.Smith fan and I didn't know where she lived.....but still! I have a friend in California and she lives in tank tops and shorts! Much better than my British weather! Lol, although I do love the rain - a bit of sun would be nice every now and then xD
It's winter here at the minute so I'd REALLY like some of your sun!
U stole the word out of my mouth!
I was very busy or was going to write in how much I love the new Background, Halloween.
It got my creative juices flowing!
lol
