(I'm not a non believer in love etc, but it docent sound to be that magical in real life :( ) I guess it's a good job I get to read about it in your books :) !!!! :)
Sometimes I wish love was easy as their one but...
But sadly, no, if they'd wanted to fire me over Nightfall they would never have entered into another contract with me after it. Which they did. And they would simply ave "hinted" to my agent that this was the cause. Publishing is not a soft and fuzzy business. No, I think it had more to do with the balance of power between us (I wasn't supposed to have any) and the realization that just by using my name they could get people to buy the books. They didn't actually need me, just the name.
Sorry for the magical jargon. I'm definitely no J.R.R. Tolkien.
In any case, can we just not talkl abouit Nightfall's deficiencies here? Or I'll feel alienated from my own Guestbook. Thank you!

be realistic in the original series the first four books osea damon elena only felt lust for her was just a challenge and an overweening egotist elena nothing to do with the brunette we know on the show
bonnie and if she is adorable and Damon noticed her not to annoy his brother and lured by a supernatural power
He wants that to whether it is really not anything else other than feeling a need to protect the bonnie liked from the beginning
and see that human being to stop this obsession for Elena and see a bonnie as what is your perfect girl
I heard that you won't write TVD books after Midnight and I feel really bad for that :( I totally adore you as a writer and TVD books especially Shadow Souls. I don't think I'm going to read them if you don't write them. I'll just go on with NightWorld. But reading TVD made my day so happy. Only the thought that from now untill 3 am in the morning I was going to read the book was wonderful

I am very, very sorry to hear that you will not be able to continue on. In truth, I /am/ mad at Alloy Entertainment. Those sorts of contracts are the types that most agents find predatory, and advise their clients against.
I hope that you will continue to write, and find an agent that will better advise you, serve your needs and protect your rights as a writer - as they're supposed to do.

has promised a new version of its history and midnight is about to leave that's why I wonder if issued before or after the book or if you are not being more the writer of the series left everything connected with it
"The Chosen" and "Huntress." I think that Quinn and Rashel are perfect together! Also, Morgead from "Huntress" reminded me of Gabriel from your other book,
"Dark Visions." I really,really hope Strange Fate comes out soon! Keep on writing!
1) When you wrote Dark Reunion, is that what you intended to be the complete ending for the series, or did you know that you wanted to continue with it later?
2) I may be mistaken about this, but didn't there used to be a story about Damon and Bonnie posted (about them in the library, and werewolves attack)?
3) Are you and the publishers planning to post a sneak peek for the next Vampire Diaries book?
4) Are you allowed to write any Vampire Diaries related content (stories, etc.)?
5) This isn't so much of a question as it is a request to please post more stories and excerpts. Those things are addictive, and sure help pass the time between books!

I have read some of the comments, its written that you have to finish strange faith as fast as you can... Take your time!!! You are the best author ever. I loved all of your books and enjoyed reading them. Especially the Night World. It is the best series I have ever read, because it is engaging with such intelligent, dangerous, sexy yet gentle characters. I also loved TVD, TSC and TFG as well as DV and I am looking for your first two novels which I cannot find.
I can't wait to read the last book and I hope that Jez and Morgead don't die. There is no other character I have loved as much as I loved these two as well as Hannah and Thierry and Keller and Galen and well the rest even though I am sure some will but still...

When I read the news that you were fired, and will not write the sequel to Midnight I was devastated. But since you're a brilliant writer, I know you will not give up writing.
My favorite series is The Vampire Diaries books. I know you will not continue to write the sequel of the books, but could you send me an email with your final version of the books?

I would just like to express how much I love you as an author and all your books! (I probably can't because there might not be enough words in any language and I'm not a talented author lol). I started with TVD and have not looked back! I read through them like nobody's business and when I was done, re-read them a ton; and I mean a ton! Then I found your other books and read through all of those! Honestly, all your stories and characters do it for me everytime! Cannot wait to continue reading about them!! (Strange Fate, Forbidden Game and hopefully Dark Visions) I also can't wait for any really new stuff! I mean I could go on forever and there's so much more to say but there's only so much room in a text box designed for 1000 symbols! Keep doin' what your doin'...it's amazing!
I wrote you an e-mail a few years ago, but now that you’ve got this nifty guestbook, I’m going to show my appreciation for you and your work here as well. I have to say that it’s been great seeing that you’ve got such a loyal and loving fanbase. When I wrote to you a few years back, I had no way of knowing I wasn’t the only one whose childhood, and indeed adulthood (as I’m now well into my 20s) had been marked by your amazing books.I’m particularly excited to hear you’re thinking of writing a sequel to the Secret Circle books and that a CW show is possibly in the works- albeit slightly worried about the changes the channel could make to the books.Your Night World characters are so vibrant, and I can’t wait to encounter them again in Strange Fate (no pressure though! Lol). In short, thank you for your body of work- and not just the Vampire Diaries, which as great as they are, only contain a few of many, many great storylines and characters you’ve created over the years.

I really love your books! For my birthday my gran and mum have bought me heart of valour and secret circle part 2. I took a sneaky peak at heart of valour and i read the first sentance and my heart melted. You are the best author in the world and please dont ever stop writing. Even when your 80. ( if you do write when your 80 i will buy your books) PS 1 question Are stefan and elena soulmates?
If you don't write them anymore, then i'm not going to buy them. Your ending is what counts, no matter whom is with whom. It has to come from you.

I just wanted to say how much i enjoyed reading Vampire Diaries. You inspired me to start writing my own stories :) I ordered the first volume of Nightworld (it came yesterday^^) and I am sure I'm gonna enjoy it too
I wish you the best for future books and that no more things like with VD happen to you :/ At first I couldnt really believe the rumors on Twitter about "LJ Smith Fired" but then I learned they were real. I just think it's extremely mean and awful. You should be able to write what YOU want and not what the publisher wants - that's what we love you for - YOUR fantasy worlds and characters :)

I love your use of characters (with Damon being my all time favorite, Ian Somerhalder portrays him so well too) I would also like to point out that you have inspired me to write my own novel. I love your books so much! I was heartbroken to hear you wouldnt be writing the vampire diaries anymore. I was wondering if there would be a way for us to finish reading the ones that you have written. I know that the one that comes out in March is yours, but you said that they were rewriting the next one. I would really like to know your take and not the new writers because I am a big Damon and Elena fan. Plus it seems like a waste to write an entire book that no one will be able to read. I hope I'm not stepping over a line asking this, but i was just curious and I love your writing so much. Please write back as it would make my whole year!

I first read Secret Vampire seven years ago when my aunt gave it to me in a stack of other books and I fell in love with it instantly. It took me a year to find and read the rest of Night World as well as Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle. I was so excited when I saw your bind-ups in my local bookstore, I had to buy them all right away, falling in love with Forbidden Game, Dark Visions and Night of Solice just as easily.
I can't wait for the rest of your incredable books, and I wish you the greatest success in your future, wither it involve writting or not.

I have a question are you going to write more secret circle books?
I have been a LONG time reader of yours from the beginning and wanted to participate in signing your guestbook. My old, tattered, first editions of your books stay in a very special place in my home with all my favorite classics. The Forbidden Game is my favorite series of yours. I just love the characters and how you developed them over the whole series. I am so happy for you recent resurgence in the last couple of years and hope you keep on writing and inspiring others. As much as I love all of your current series, as do all your fans, I would SO love to see something completely new. Have you considered starting a totally new series that is not a spin-off or continuation?

PS I started reading your books after falling in love with the Secret Circle trilogy. I am very excited that it may also become a CW show like Vampire Diaries which is currently my favorite show. I do hope they stay truer to your books though as far as characters go. Never did understand why there is no Meredith on Vampire Diaries!
One question though: What is your insperation for all theese books, because I'm always told that the best stories come out of you experience and I highly doubt that you have experienced the things that have happend in your books.

Honestly I can;t even tell you how much I love Vampire Diaries. They are my favorite books and whenever I get upset or have a bad day I pick one of them up and just start reading again because they take my mind off things. They inspire me. No other book I have read is better then them. I love Elena, Stefan, and Damon and you of course

You are my inspiration, i started reading your vampire diaries books a couple of years ago and have since read all of your books that are currently out. I think your writing is amazing with so much effort and detail. my favourite of your books would have to be Night world. I was wondering how you came up with the ideas in the night world series such as the prophecies and the whole idea of the wild powers? they are so unique in their own way and you make it sound so real.
