Brionwy's Lullaby
This began as part of the Night World book Strange Fate, but the characters were so compelling . . . that the tale grew in the telling. It is now being planned as an independent, standalone book, with vague connections to the Night World, perhaps. In any case, it will follow the Post- Apocalyptic adventures of the courtesan Brionwy and her young “abled” friend Crispy as they fight to escape the Slave Farm to which they both belong. Rating: for mature people who enjoy suspense and vampire tales.

I am not sure who is placing these arbitrary publish dates but I would not trust them. Only the publisher of the book can decide when it gets published so until you get the date from the publisher I would not trust it. On the same topic, L. J. Smith is currently writing the Brionwy's Lullaby AND Night World: Strange Fate. Last time I've checked, these two books are being edited right now. I can't say it for sure but I think these books could make it to bookshelves before 2014. Just my guess.
I think Briowy's dwenna (duenna) is a witch. And Brionwy has violet eyes herself. Maybe she is a witch just the same? I would have thought that the dragons and vampires would have killed all the witches after they won the apocalypse. So how come (id Brionwy is a witch, that is) a lost witch is still alive?
I really like Brionwy's personality! The way she thinks, the way she sees the world she lives in... She seems so much different from all the other courtesans, that way she still see herself as a person. It seems that she still have a spak left in her heart that makes her more alive than all the others. And of course I love the fact that she read books! If I were a courtsan in that house I would also have sneaked off to read in the library. All the time.
.
This sneak peek makes me wonder if this is a love story with soulmates.
This is a wonderfull sneak peek of a entralling story. Thank you, L. J. Smith
Nevertheless, it was intriguing and Brionwy is a very smart character. The Overseer - I think - may actually be her soulmate. Maybe.
This sneak peek just has me starving for more. I can't wait for Strange Fate and The Last Lullaby!
Also, I heard that a Night World movie is going to come out, is this true?
Also Lisa has mentioned on Forum that some changes have been made to The Last Lullaby. It is no longer part of Night World with witches, vampires, and shapeshifters. It is its own stand-alone book. The sneak peak is still accurate, though. Lisa has also provided a synopsis of the book here.http://www.ljanesmith.net/www/images/stories/downloads/LJaneSmith_OverTwoDozenThingsYouNeverKnewAbout_LJSMITH.pdf
The synopsis is at the bottom, but before that Lisa answers several other interesting questions about herself.
