Let us not be so haste to forget to include the RING NUMBER / RING SIZE / COLOR (leaving color empty means Lisa will send you her favorite) in your Forum post. PLEASE BE AWARE: Rings are mostly in sizes 6 and 7. She does have some additional sizes but it is highly likely that most winners will receive rings in sizes that Lisa has on hand. THE CONTEST

This contest is inspired by THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ cute little red-haired pixie, who loves all things Celtic, and who learned at her grandmother’s knee about Celtic knots and designs and about Claddagh rings. Never heard of them? You’re about to get a gorgeous education.

GRAND PRIZE 14K GOLD CLADDAGH RINGTHE PRIZES

Twenty (yes, 20) lucky eligible Forum Members (See WHO CAN ENTER below) will each get to pick from a dazzling array of Tara’s Diary Celtic stacking rings and Claddagh rings from such terrific stores as THE CRYSTAL REALM, BIDDY MURPHY, TIPPERARY AT TARA and LINDA CLIFFORD! The “how” will be a simple first come, first served, and the GRAND PRIZE is a Genuine Irish 14K gold Claddagh ring from THE CRYSTAL REALM.

But first, what is a Claddagh ring? Well, according to Wicki—er I mean, Bonnie’s Grandmother, The Claddagh ring (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) is a traditional Irish ring given as a token of friendship, love, or marriage. The design and customs associated with it originated in the Irish fishing village of Claddagh, located just outside the city of Galway. The ring was first produced in the 17th century during the reign of William and Mary, though elements of the design date to the late Roman period.

(She was an erudite old lady, wasn’t she?) She goes on to say that:

The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown).

But the Claddagh ring has come to mean simply a friendship or relationship ring, celebrating one’s love, friendship and loyalty to anyone or anything.

As for Tara’s Diary Celtic stacking rings—well, these are not Claddagh rings, but oh, can they be beautiful and symbolic! Some of the rings have Celtic knot designs, some have “jewels,” some have hearts, trinity knots, pearls, or simple sayings. The great thing about them is that you can play with them, wearing them in any order you want. NOTICE: NOT ALL STACKING RINGS ARE PICTURED YET! SOME OF THE BEST SETS HAVEN’T ARRIVED YET, SO WATCH THIS SPACE FOR ADDITIONS AS THEY COME IN!

WHO CAN ENTER

Any Forum Member with minimum of TEN(10) POSTS are eligible. Each winner will be responsible for any customs or duty taxes which may be levied by their government (this does not apply to entrants in the USA, obviously). NOTE: If you do not check-in to Forum's Contest thread within 24 hours, a new winner will be drawn and their name posted.

HOW TO ENTER:

Starting with this contest, I have phased out a traditional entry via eMail. Instead EVERY ELIGIBLE FORUM MEMBER IS AUTOMATICALLY ENTERED to win these prizes.

CONTEST DURATION:

Bonnie’s Celtic Stacking Ring Contest will run from MARCH 1 to APRIL 29. Twenty Eligible Forum Member's Usernames will be posted at the top of this Contest Page sometime on APRIL 30TH. Winners will have 24 hours from the time their Usernames have been posted to check-in to the Forum's Contest thread. If you were unable to complete the final check-in to Forum's Contest thread within 24 hours, a new winner will be drawn. No exceptions!!

Starting with this contest, any lost prizes during shipping will not be replaced. In the recent past too much time were spent managing these missing packages than writing and that is not something I have time for. I need to spend that time writing.
